90% mental, 10% physical

So I have discovered the desert in the early morning when the stars are still out. I am really getting serious about training for the 1/2 marathon in January and getting my endurance up. My new routine is ...

Mon, Wed & Fri
6-7am
rollerblade
9 - 10:15am
cardio & weight training class

Tues & Thurs
6-7am
Run

I am LOVING it and feeling so energetic! I am rollerblading with some friends here in Vistancia. We were joking this morning that we all contemplated on getting up this morning because it was so "cold". At 6, it's about 55-degrees and to us Arizonians, that is worth contemplating going outside! I wouldn't miss my working workout with my friends for anything. Watching the sun come up with close friends and spending time together is so much fun!

Kristi was telling me about a relay triathlon in December that we are looking into participating in. Kristi would do the cycling, I would do the running and her sister-in-law would do the swimming. That would be so much fun. I've never done a triathlon before or participated in a relay (at least, not as an adult).

The train park was so much fun. We had no time restrictions on the day and just hung out with a family. We told Logan we were going as a family and he said, "Oh, I know what that means. We only spend time with the four of us and nobody else. That will be fun!" unfortunately, we don't get too many chances to do activities as a family lately.

Mark said our new insurance office should be done on November 10. We're very excited to have our own space. We are leasing an office building in North Phoenix. Right now, Mark and his staff are working out of the district office and it's pretty cramped.

On Sunday, we had a combined RS/Priesthood meeting since it was the 5th Sunday of the month. Our Bishopric had asked our Regional Welfare Rep to come and talk to us about Personal preparedness and what we should have in case of a disaster or state of emergency. Our church has been really pushing this lately. It makes me feel a little guilty that I may not have taken the council very seriously in the past. I now am feeling an overwhelming responsibility to get my family the food and supplies needed in case there were such an emergency. I am so glad to know that our church itself is so prepared!

I can't believe it's already Halloween! My goodness, where has the year gone? Before we know it, we'll be putting up Christmas trees and then ringing in the new year. This year has been so good to our family. We have had so many answers to prayers and so many blessings.

Happy Halloween!!

first time for everything

It seems like "everyone" has a blog page now. What a great way to keep up on the happenings of friends and family!

Last night was our ward's Trunk or Treat party. Literally minutes before we left for the party, Addi changed her mind on what she wanted to dress up as. We bought an Eore costume for her at Costco, but decided she wanted to be a princess instead. SO ... she wore the dress she wore for Curtiss & Jessika's wedding back in March. She kept telling me, "I'm so pretty". She said she'd be Eore for TRICK or Treating, "just not TRUNK or Treating, Mom". Logan was a cop ... surprise, surprise, uh? They had fun and got lots of candy.

Today we are spending time as a family (a rare occasion). Logan has been asking to go to the Stillman Train Park in Scottsdale, so we're taking the kiddos there and then we'll stop bye and see my grandmother who lives near the park. We haven't seen her in a while.

I got a call from my brother in Iraq last night. It was SO great to hear his voice. I wish I knew the details of what he's doing, but I know the Lord will keep him safe. We've talked several times about the "what if's" and he reassures me if something happens to him, he will die doing what he loves and fighting for our country. I have come to some sort of peace with that answer, but it doesn't make it much easier knowing he's in harms way.

My parents are coming for Thanksgiving in a few weeks. I am beyond excited to see them. It's been since March that we have seen my folks. I miss shopping with my mom!! In December, I am taking a trip alone to California for my mom's graduation from nursing school. That trip I am really looking forward to.

I'm so excited to be on here ... if you have a blog page, send me the link!!

Happy Saturday!
